Rusia en América Latina (y viceversa)

Summary.
With the disappearance of the Soviet Union, Russia’s power shrank on the international stage. The relationship with Latin American countries, many of whom had enjoyed diplomatic ties with the old Russian State since the 19th century, suffered this change. However, since the middle of the 1990s, relationships have gained strength: commercial exchange has increased, visits by heads of State have multiplied and strategic associations (particularly with Brazil) have strengthened. The article analyzes the different aspects of the Russian-Latin American relationship, and maintains that it demonstrates a rising tendency in the new world order.
